I shouldn't have gotten up today
Or yesterday
Or the day before
Or the day before that either

I did though, I got up today
And yesterday
And the day before
And the day before that also

My heart beat into my chest
The pulse pounding faster
I took my pills to slow it
The pain has yet to stop

I shouldn't have gotten up today
For I angered my family
For I knew the weather was bad
For I knew I didn't feel like it either

I did though, I got up today
And was yelled at for parking wrong
And watched the snow and winds move
And felt my chest hurt more today also

My chest is still getting tighter
The heartbeat fast and sharp
I took my pills to slow it
The pain has yet to stop

I shouldn't have gotten up today
I know tonight I'll fall
I know my heart will still hurt
I know the pain won't stop then either

I did though, I got up today
As I'll do tomorrow
As I'll do the next day
AS I'll do the day after that also
